The company I worked for went under and it was totally deserved.

I worked for a cruise line for 5 years. You can imagine what covid was like. No cruises were operating for over a year, and we had to cancel and refund every booking. Part of my duties involved processing the refunds. As I was the senior member of my team and had thebfirst shift, I did them, it was maybe 20 refunds a day, once covid hit it was 200 a day. The way that company handled their finances were awful. We were telling people refunds would take 90 days. The company did cost cutting measures, furlough, cutting ot, laying off 1/3 of the company.

People were mad, they were waiting 6 months for refunds, threatening us with legal action. No other cruise line was this bad. We were still being paid, but the company ran out of money to issue refunds, sometimes we actually weren't processing refunds for 2 weeks. They were getting bank loans, and money from the parent company. I think it got to the point where people had been waiting nearly a year for refunds.

I moved on prior to when the company folded. I was incredibly sad for the long time people that worked there, some had planned to retire. But how they handled covid was so awful that you could have seen the collapse coming a mile away.

People are still waiting on refunds, people are still owed their pay for accrued vacation pay etc.
