I was looking at Weld inspection jobs to see what kind of pay I can get, as my employer is getting me my weld inspection license and welding supervisor course.
I saw an ad for a Welding instructor job in Ontario.
Theyre offering $20-$25 an hour for someone with all their structural and pipe welding tickets, and red seal certification to teach others how to do this. To put that in perspective, I'm still an apprentice Fabricator (fitter/Welder) with just my structural FCAW tickets, and I make $28 an hour in PEI, one of the lower wage provinces in Canada.
How in the flying fuck do they think they're going to hire anyone for that wage, when anyone with that amount of experience can go get a job for $35 or a lot more if they go up north or out west and not have to teach 10-30 people at a time?!
