The final straw that made me quit effectively immediately

I joined a company about a year ago and was quickly promoted to the head of the department. I noticed religious based nepotism super quickly, petty people promoted to the level of incompetence, and general disregard for the lower level workers. I fought tooth and nail on a daily basis for those workers to be paid appropriately and be treated better by other managers. I joined a company about a year ago and was quickly promoted to the head of the department. I noticed religious based nepotism super quickly, petty people promoted to the level of incompetence, and general disregard for the lower level workers.

Today was the final straw: the other managers (especially one boomer) went full boomer with that whole “People get their taxes back and quit working” pile of crap.

That was it. I was done. My last day was supposed to be Friday and I could not take another second. I quickly finished training my replacement (I will help them out if they need help) and sent in a scathing “I quit effective immediately” email that detailed why I could not deal with them anymore and stating that I have video evidence of all my equipment working before sending it back to them (yes, I have tons of pics of the packaging and whatnot).

It feels GOOOOOOD to be done with them.

I start my new job Monday with nearly double the paycheck, proper technology to do my job, a great/growing team, and great benefits.
