The future of marketing at my workplace

So I'm working in a small franchise theater and just got an email from the headquarters. For context, we focus on musicals/fairytales for kids and sell the included songs after the show on CD. Here is the mail (names are changed): “Dear friends, Do you know the argument of parents that they don't have a CD player anymore when it comes to fairy tale CDs? We as publisher have reacted to this and provided CD players to support CD sales. You can find photos in the attachment. And now the hit: You get the CD players as commission goods, i.e. you have financially zero risk. The selling price is ××× and the purchase price is ××× + ×. Only the players that have been sold will be charged. Stephanie is looking forward to your order and will be happy to advise you. Best wishes and a happy week, Charles” I…

I can't tell you the exact prices, but the player is three times as much as the CD itself (which isn't exactly cheap either). The best part is they never even thought about making digital copies (spotify ect). I can only hope that my regional manager will not jump on this train.
