the guilt of calling in.

i’m a college student who works a just barely over min. wage job at an unnamed grocery store. this summer i’ve been working more hours while also doing summer classes, and it’s got me extremely burnt out. last night i was supposed to be up super early for my morning shift but i just couldn’t fall asleep from all these anxieties i was having about school and personal matters so i ended up calling in for the first time ever (and probably/hopefully last). i usually just stick it out but i’ve been sleep deprived for a few days now. i’m feeling so guilty for potentially screwing over my coworkers. i know i shouldn’t, but i feel like it gets so hammered into people that calling in for anything except dire emergencies is not okay. does anyone have any advice for dealing with this kind of thing?
