The Little ‘We are family’ Manifesto

I don't mind being available 24/7 for my child. If she cries I will do my very best at any time, I'll lose sleep, I'll be stressed, I'll have no break, I'll do multiple tasks, I'll put more and more effort everyday to watch her grow. Remind you of something? Yet she doesn't exploit me. I'm not replaceable to her. My position can't be terminated out of the blue. I can't be anything else. If you're replaceable, if you're exploited, if you work hard for something that is extraneous to you, if you go to work as a duty to get back to your family, You're not family. You're asking for 100 giving 0, using words that have no mean in that context at your favor, trying to make people feel guilty because they don't feel that connection, that affection that they shouldn't feel, because they're not home – and…

If you're replaceable, if you're exploited, if you work hard for something that is extraneous to you, if you go to work as a duty to get back to your family,

You're not family.

You're asking for 100 giving 0, using words that have no mean in that context at your favor, trying to make people feel guilty because they don't feel that connection, that affection that they shouldn't feel, because they're not home – and you're not even doing anything to make it similar.

Home is where you (and only you) belong to

Your ultimate destiny, the blood in your veins, the sweat you don't feel falling – the place where tiredness is a victory, where hard labor is your goal because you care more than your life.

Does it feel right to you to ask anyone to behave like this on the workplace?

Let yourself care more about your children than your life, then you'll be rich;
Let yourself care more about work than your family, and you'll lose your soul and being, never living again like the automated program they want you to be.
We're human, our goal isn't a specific task.

Keep those words out of your interviews and papers, take it down when they'll write them on the walls.

Fight for your right to be human, fight for our children.
