This story takes place early July of this year, I just landed a bartending job at a fine dining Italian restaurant. My first day of training, I'm dressed in a nice black shirt and black dress pants. The manager takes me over to the deli side of the restaurant.
He tells me “sometimes” I'll have to work the deli, so I should learn how to use the meat slicer, and hands me a hair net. I had left my purse behind the bar, so I went to retrieve it. I asked the bartender on duty if they were actually in need of bartenders.
Nope! But the deli was short handed. Yeah…..folks I bailed. F companies that do this. Worked out in the end. Found a great bartending gig a few weeks later.
