And I refuse to kiss ass to get ahead. I'm a college graduate with about 8 years experience in customer service. I am 30 years old. I work for a Waxing center that gives off the impression it is a “non toxic, team environment that empowers women” and it's a lie.
I have been there 5 months and make most of the sales for the Guest Service Associates. I asked about a promotion and they told me to get my sales up so I did. But it's been crickets.
The assistant manager is 20 years old. She got promoted to Lead GSA in four months. Fast forward 5 months after that and she is promoted to assistant manager. She's young, immature and frankly a snake. But she kisses the managers ass so hard. She lives with her mom and dad. She doesn't need to be paid what she's paid. Meanwhile I'm struggling to make my rent, haven't paid my health insurance in 3 months and am behind on various bills because my paychecks come in at about 600 bucks every two weeks.
I loved working here when I first started. But the toxicity is way too much. Not to mention I feel used by my employer. I'm worth much more than 12 dollars an hour.
Don't even bother working for EUROPEAN WAX CENTER. The environment sucks, the management and corporate play favorites and there's no potential for growth. Being a hard worker only gets you taken advantage of.
I already have three interviews coming up this week and cannot wait to quit this bullshit job! Wish me luck đŸ™‚
