The problem is boomers or rather the economy they created.

I will preface this by saying I understand that it's not all boomers and that there are plenty of socialist boomers out there who are with us. There are also plenty of conservative boomers out there who are still working because they weren't able to benefit from the economic situation for one reason or another, and I feel for them too even though they vote against their best interests. The Boomer generation took the most fertile economy that America could offer from world war II – the economy that our depression-era grandparents fought really hard and worked really hard to create – and they succeeded in it. That old economy allowed our grandparents to retire and live very comfortably on the pensions that they created. The Boomer generation took the most fertile economy that America could offer from world war II – the economy that our depression-era grandparents fought really hard and worked really hard to create – and they succeeded in it.

That old economy allowed our grandparents to retire and live very comfortably on the pensions that they created. By retiring, they opened up space for the boomers to take their jobs and then also make a good life for themselves.

The problem is that boomers didn't come out of hardship like our grandparents did so they don't appreciate the advantages that they had. Instead of working and creating and then retiring to make room for Gen X they kept working to amass more money and then they gave themselves massive tax cuts and incentives that allowed the companies they created to smash competition that would arise out of future generations.

Couple that with how degrees don't mean as much as they did in the 70s and 80s but they still advertise the importance to us so we take out loans.

They created an economy where the already rich are set to get richer and it's nearly impossible get ahead because we're almost certainly saddled with debt after high school, only to enter an economy that makes it impossible to pay our loans back, so we can't afford the housing they already own.

They control the economy, political parties, and housing. Every decision that is made benefits them or keeps younger, poorer people suppressed.

On top of that, they've aligned themselves with patriarchal evangelical churches to keep the poor voting against their best interests.

Just shower thoughts, depressing as they may be.
