The sad state of wages in the us – I make the same as my little brother now.

I just found out my little 16 year old brother makes 16$ an hour unloading boxes at a major department store. Meanwhile, I make 16$ an hour in adult foster care , a job that requires state training and 12 hour shifts of hands on care and supervision of 5 disabled adults, passing medications too. How the hell is this sustainable? I feel like a failure. Even with my degree being finished the only jobs available are 14-19$ and hour and the 19$ jobs are all management positions in fastfood that effectively take over your life. I feel sick and hopeless; I am an adult with a full time job, insurance benefits, about to graduate with a degree, and I make the same fucking amount as my little brother moving boxes from one spot to another.
