Antiwork

The sheer audacity is astounding.

I want to preface this by saying I work in North Carolina, and it's an at-will state, so all of this could be completely legal, but I just wanted some opinions. I've worked at this same restaurant as a waitress for five years. We recently started selling alcohol. We don't have a bar, and its not on tap. We're literally selling $5.99 and up cans/bottles of beer and wine. So as you can imagine, sales kinda suck. So my boss told us today that our schedules will reflect our sales. So if you dont sell a lot, you wont be scheduled a lot. Or he'll just fire you completely. We're so “short staffed” and need help, but not so short that sales on items that dont even matter will cause you to literally fire someone. Waitress get blamed for not making enough in tips if the ticket isnt considered high…

Waitress get blamed for not making enough in tips if the ticket isnt considered high enough, or you didn't try and upsale certain meals. Uniforms now have to be inspected and approved before you can even clock in. You have to physically pick up the drink menu and show it off like a clown in a circus, and we're being watched to be made sure we do so.

So, my question is, is any of this actually legal?
