Everyone in the clinic (techs, docs, admin assistants) had to undergo “happiness training” where they learned if they’re unhappy because they’re, oh I don’t know, overworked & underpaid, that’s their own fault because happiness is a choice. (Ironically the day-long “Happiness Training” itself was mandatory and therefore, not a choice. Also the happiness training was in a literal shed – I guess that was a test? “If you’re not happy being forced to spend your day in a shed, that’s your fault!”)
Another thing. They all realized they’re going to have to go to another clinic for their own pet care because (surprise surprise) the new corp is trying to get richer off their own underpaid employees by disallowing discounts for employees. My husband used to go in on Sundays and do free dental work on techs’ pets as a thank-you for their hard work. That’s not allowed anymore, obviously. Can’t make money by giving employee recognition, amiright.
I don’t work in the veterinary field so it’s wholly inappropriate for me to say anything to them but GAWD I am furious. Fortunately most employees are planning their exit (including my husband) so they’ll soon find themselves floundering to hire a new staff but I know they’ll just hire a new batch of suckers instead of looking at how they treat people aaaaaaaauuuuuggghhh so frustrating grumble grumble “happiness training” ffs who are the f kidding grumble
