Every aspect of the US economy is to have us salving for either the rich or the government or for both.
Education – we all know education is extremely important to maintain the modern civil society. So let’s give “free” education via public schools. Only that it’s not free. You pay for meals at school, you pay property taxes to maintain said schools. Okay I don’t mind paying taxes to maintain schools but no the teachers get paid shit and the equipment is shit. and now you get soft introduced to to the “working society”. Teens can work and earn wages but they are still dependent on the parents because minimum wages are set so low that they benefit only kids. Now the kids and parents realise okay we need higher education so the next step is under grad education. But a lot of people don’t have money so they take a loan that has one of the highest interest rates and then you Gotto keep working to pay off this loan.
Transportation – the public transportation system in this country is broke. Except for a couple of large cities public transportation is a hassle to say the least. So now to get to the job on time on time that we have to pay of the student loan we have to buy a car. So we are now caught in a car loan.
Home – this is the kicker. The most common loan is a 30 year loan. 30 fucking years. So you have to keep working for 30 years to keep you and your family safe
This whole process which was put in place decades ago doesn’t work any more. It worked until the 80’s maybe even the 90’s because you made enough and the dollar had a value to first pay off your education loan and then pay off the car and then pay off the house One after the other.
But now inflation has gone up so much and salaries have not kept up with inflation that all the above loans are overlapping to the tune of a persons whole life.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. We haven’t discussed healthcare.
