I just want to post to state there ARE good companies out there. I see so much of how shitty companies are and I want to make it clear to those who are looking that good companies do indeed exist.
I have been working for a company that has treated me with tremendous respect. When my wife miscarried a month after I started, I was terrified of how they would handle things. My manager was in a meeting when she told me and I told a coworker the situation and left. When I came back in the next day the response was not “you should have stayed.” Instead it was “should you be here.” The plant manager told me “go home and be with your wife.”
There are good employers out there and that is what we should all be striving for. We all deserve respect. I don't think anyone here feels like they deserve to live an amazing lifestyle without work. Instead, we are asking for respect and for us to be able to work a reasonable job and make a decent living.
