I was recently laid off and need to vent. This is fucking ridiculous. There needs to be regulation around hiring.
Applicants should ONLY be required to upload their resume and fill out demographic information. ANYTHING after that should require a first round of interviews. Oh, and pay must be stated in the posting.
I'm going to hit the wall if I have to fill out another job application where I upload my resume, then have to manually type in EVERYTHING on my resume (which I have a lot of experience, so it takes a while), then have to open up Google docs and carefully edit a cover letter to specifically represent this company.
What's even more infuriating is when it offers to “auto fill” with resume and comes out all fucked up so not only do I still have to type everything in, but also remove it all first.
And don't even get he started on the corny ass questions some of them ask. I literally had one the other day ask me “in 3-4 paragraphs describe what motivates you to get out of bed in the morning” like fuuuuccckkk yooooouuuuu.
All of this for jobs that won't even show the fucking salary. I did all these jumps and spins for a job application to go through an hour interview for them to then tell me the pay is 27k a year like omfg I'm going to explode
This is just totally wrong, job applications shouldn't take damn near 30 minutes to complete. There needs to be rules.
