This Sub Seems to Have 2 Populations With Very Different Ideas – Which are you?

1) That current jobs suck because of bad bosses, lack of worker protections and rights, income inequality, and capitalism's horrible lack of morals. These people believe we need to overhaul the corrupt corporate system, stand up for our rights, and hopefully make working better for all so that everyone has a safe workplace with respect, bad bosses get fired, and everyone makes a good wage to live with and enjoy life. 2) That working in general is bad, no one should work, and even with ideal conditions (good bosses, high wages, and reasonable amounts of well-appreciated work), they just don't want to work and never will. One of those seems a lot more reasonable, worthy, and productive to me, with my own biases. It seems like people in Camp #2 are burned out or suffering trauma – which is very understandable – but aren't really advocating for a useful and productive goal. Hating your job is understandable – so many jobs suck – but also many jobs are necessary and useful, and rewarding, like teaching, medicine, creating art, etc. It seems to me the useful problem to address isnt “work exists,” but rather “the conditions of working right now are unfair and harmful.”

What about you?
