So I think this is obvious but i wanna know what you guys think of this. So I've worked at Giant food stores for about 6 months now, have done a pretty decent job imo(customers love me apparently) and I've recently requested full time. Heres the thing though, at this giant, even if you work 40 hours a week, you don't get a full time raise unless you basically keep bugging them about it. So I'm making $13.25, working 40 hours a week(despite being part time apparently lmaoooo) and I'm the only closer in the department, I also got left alone for over an hour the other day because the manager decided to leave early and the assistant manager was in the hot foods area doing that, helped with one customer then left. Is this not complete fucking bullshit? Should I talk to HR or should I just try and find another job? It's a shame because I like staying consistent and I like my co workers and the routine I've built around my schedule there, but I feel like they're 110% taking advantage of me and other co workers. One co worker in particular who is a mildly autistic girl, they just seem to constantly be playing with her about full time and filling out grab n go(basically just cutting stuff and putting it out for people to grab instead of waiting in line) and they cant even be fucking understanding that I'm literally the only closer and we can only do so much. I think it's absolutely disgusting how they treat this girl, as well as me and other co workers. I'd like to know your guys opinion.
