Just needed a little bit of advice.
I started my job last August after leaving my previous job due to hours being cut/not qualifying for health insurance anymore. The job ended up being different than what they advertised slightly; I was hired for an admin role but took on processing orders and working with our sales team and warehouse. Essentially took over that department. I was told my starting salary was just that: starting, and it would be raised and reviewed in two months after the probation period. That time came and went. I completely turned the department around and everyone was happy with the work I was doing and how I worked with the sales team and other coworkers. Once three months hit, I tried scheduling my review but I got surgery and it never got rescheduled for when I returned. I tried emailing my HR team and boss the next month and still nothing. Again for the next month. I should have pushed it more, I know, but six months later (so four months late) we finally had my meeting. My boss took the time to tell me he thought i’d do more admin things but aside from that, appreciated my performance and was very happy with how I fit in. During this meeting, I was told it was not guaranteed anymore that my rate will change as they have been reworking policies. At that moment I had more or less decided I was going to quit. I want to maybe give a weeks notice. Am I being a brat? How should I go about this? I have another interview set up this week and am confident it will go well. I just feel like expecting me to do more than i’ve already done while thinking I can pay my bills in compliments is ridiculous, and trying to back track from paying me more is even worse.
