Thats really the whole story. I work for a small restaurant group as a bartender and Somm. Had to throw a guy out last week because he was being a racist prick and making a lot of guests and employees uncomfortable.
This week, our HR guy/CEO came at me trying to patronize me and telling me that he's a good customer and I shouldn't even be letting a conversation skew into a direction if things like race or class or politics, or god etc. literally said we shouldn't be talking about any of those things at work with coworkers or guests…
All this for a conversation I wasn't actually a part of. I just ended up being the one who had to do the dirty work.
What a piece of shit garbage human being. Told me this guy was a “good friend of his and loyal customer for 11 years…” sounds to me like the boss has some shitty friends..
Anyway… now I sit trying to figure out if I can file a complaint with the EEOC or something about it.
