So, in about 8 hours, I'll quit the job I had for the past 10+ years. No one has the slightest clue at this moment. Two things made me do it, but none of those would be possible without the strength from this subreddit, so thank you all.
The first reason is that I was expecting a promotion soon, but a couple of months ago, my new boss made it clear that although I would get the increased responsibility, I wouldn't get the pay increase.
So, long story short, I opened my LinkedIn to recruiters, got some interviews, and I'll be going to another company with a 45% pay raise to do more or less the same work.
I would be lying if I told you I am not afraid of this new challenge after so much time in this company. But I started to realize that no company, friendly as it seemed, will do for you what you deserve unless you force their hand.
