(A little long but please read)
Hello everyone, I am having anxiety attacks for the last couple of months and I have decided to share my story and have a view from you guys.
I am working in an Insurance Agency as an insurance broker for the last three years. I have worked there with a person, I will refer as D.
For the last 2 and a half years were alright even though this job has no appreciation and too stressful considering claims happen or some problematic people.
Btw I am Turkish and all of my customers are British except few sweet canadian and Australian people. (Saying this because D is also British)
I have had problems with my customers when D was gone to holidays etc. They were asking him instead of me consistently wanting to deal with him and I always thought the problem was me. One time when he went to holidays I was checking his e-mail to answer customers questions and noticed he was talking behind my back to MY customers referring me as “the girl in the office” only he refers me with my name when he forwards the mails to me or telling customers that I am a stupid girl. Even in a mail he said to a customer that I live in a bubble just because I told him that the customer shouldn’t worry about a simple issue. After i saw these I confronted him and he quit the next day. ( I have tried to reach my boss for 2 weeks to solve this but I couldn’t and then I confronted him, but the sad part I was found faulty)
4 days ago a customer called for renewal of his car insurance and it was the due date of it. Even though we work until 1 pm and even though I was off the full week because I was way too sick to go to work, I went to the office at 5pm to renew their policy but I needed the logbook of his car because D didn’t take any necessary information from the customer and the insurance systems want me to fill some places for me to renew the policy.
I called the man and his wife answered telling me that D was way better than me and he always get things done. But she doesn’t know that D was doing things in a way that he shouldn’t have.
Next day I called the customer and again the wife answered, I told them that we should meet on Monday because I am too sick to go to work.
On the phone she called me a liar, telling that my voice was okay. She told me that I was faking sickness. And according to her I should go to the office.
I said nothing but see you on monday.
These kind of toxicity happens a lot.
I am sick of these behaviors and can’t take it anymore.
And today a new work day and I am having high anxiety attack before going to work and wanted to share.
Are there any other people having these kind of toxicity from their customers?
