Travel expenses [UK]

So recently my employer of 6 years made relocate to a new building and part of the “agreement” was they would pay my extra travel expenses. The total was agreed with my manager and I had to read and sign a statement and everything looked fine so I went and bought a monthly train ticket. Pay day has come and the amount is a lot less than what was originally agreed so I made some phone calls to HR/Payroll, they advised I need to speak to the regional manager. He has basically put it down to being pro rata of my moving date as that was the 12th of the month and was told that was the end of it. Nowhere on any of the policies for the travel expenses that I had to read and sign for does it mention about being moved mid month would have this effect,…

Nowhere on any of the policies for the travel expenses that I had to read and sign for does it mention about being moved mid month would have this effect, it just states every month X amount to be paid.

The only choice I’ve been given and I’m currently taking is filling a grievance but I’m just wondering what else I could possibly do with this situation.

I’ve basically had to pay to move to a new building I never wanted to go to in the first place.

Tldr: company made me relocate and agreed to cover my additional travel costs, now they are saying I’ve been paid pro rata based on my moving date but that was never mentioned in policy and statement I had to sign.
