So a couple years back I got hired by a medical cannabis manufacturer. Last August, it was announced that our company got bought by Trulieve. All of us were worried about our jobs, but they held a large meeting with us and guaranteed growth and job security.
As of last month, it was announced that our facility would be shutting down because they expected the stock market to go a certain way and it didn't. We feel like they gambled with our jobs. Ever since they've taken over, we have done 10x the work that we did before with no pay raise. They tried to compensate for this by adding a dollar to their minimum wage (making it 15/hr) but in doing this, they've done away with 90 day reviews.
Trulieve has done all they can to help people transition into new roles, but the majority of them are hours away from where our current facility is. People are having to move to these distant facilities or take pay cuts with remote positions.
So many people are suffering here right now. They have bills, families, just like everyone else. The pandemic is still raging. The job market is still terrible. All of the growth and opportunity that we were promised has been ripped right from underneath us. I know that Trulieve is an At Will employer, but that does not excuse them from doing terrible things like this to their workers. Not just at my facility, but everywhere.
I don't expect Trulieve to see this post or for them to do anything about their terrible company, but to anyone out there who's considering a career with Trulieve, turn back now.
