So I’m 21 and I work as a courtesy clerk at one of many divisions of Kroger (I decline to say which brand for anonymity) and I work with these old guys who are in their 60s who seem to get on my ass for not working when I can’t find anything to do.
I do have a tendency to sit around and text and browse Reddit during these moments but only if we are looking good on all counts, full of carts, everything clean, etc. Neither of these guys are my boss, and my boss has literally referred to being at work as “a waste of time” and he wasn’t kidding either. I don’t get paid enough for that shit to be constantly finding tasks to keep me busy. That’s my boss’s job.
Am I being a dick and totally off base? You guys tell me.
