Sorry if this is a bit all over the place. I tried to keep as short as possible but I'm angry.
i work in a university in the uk and the over the last 2 years a bonus scheme has been reintroduced.
during the first lockdown last year my team were off site (still wfh) for a couple of months. after that we were on site the whole time, through lockdowns and everything else. we were needed, not essential! or key! cant say that. we might be worth something then.
i asked for our team to be put forward for the scheme multiple times and i was told by the manager that he is putting the document together. only to find out he was told by the head of service to not submit the claim as we basically did nothing beyond what we was meant to for our job.
skip forward a year and it comes round again. i personally had done OT (paid) in triple figures over the last 6 months to get massive projects over the line. i was going to submit my own request but i was told my now new manager was submitting a personal claim for me. hes seems pretty genuine so i passed my information i started to gather to him.
fast forward again and all applicants were supposed to find out the results a week ago, good or bad.
complete silence, im beyond annoyed. if i wasn't in the middle of buying a house id probably have done something stupid by now.
where do i stand? being lied to 2 years in a row now.
i sadly cant just quit as i need the job as i said im buying a house.
i was thinking of joining the union but feel a bit cheeky joining as i need help
My plan was to raise the issue with hr.
