My friend has been getting mistreated by an assistant manager whom I’ve reported before for the way she treats others, as I’m the one people often go to complain about her to, and I take hostile work environment complaints seriously. They hurt morale, and cause productivity to decrease which is not something we can have in a fast food environment.
So I overheard them talking about firing my friend who this manager has been mean to for a few weeks now for calling off sick, so at the end of my shift I gave her a heads up about the situation and just to be prepared in case they do decide to go through with it. I also put her into contact with a women I ran into when I was looking for a second job. She was offering work from home positions which I thought would suit her better (She’s got 4 kids, 1 of which is on the spectrum)
I got yelled at by my boss telling me it was “Unprofessional” to do this. I don’t care, it was the right thing to do in this situation and I don’t regret it one bit.
