Years ago I worked at Cineplex in Toronto. The managers would rutinely stop employees to do uniform checks. They'd make you lift your pant legs to make sure you were wearing black socks. I replied that it didn't matter what colour my socks were if no one can see them. Then you'd get written up if the were “More of a dark grey.” You got to love getting paid minimum wage just to subjected to that bullshit.
