I put in my 1 weeks notice last week. Almost 24hrs after I sent the email, I had gotten no response from management almost like I was being ghosted. Since I had no response, I sent a follow up message to see if they had a chance to look at my email.
They said they saw it and we’re discussing with the team a plan moving forward. They wasn’t going to be a plan, I’m leaving the company dude. I asked if they could give me a letter of recommendation by end of day, and to my surprise, no response again.
My original end date was supposed to be a week out but since this has been an ongoing trend since the beginning of my employment with regards to sending messages and not getting answers in a timely manner, I guess I just had enough of being ignored.
Ps. with Microsoft teams you can tell when someone reads your message. They read it and just decided not to answer it.
I talked to my team members to give them everything they would need, then sent another message out 7+hrs after my initial message asking for a letter of recommendation with still no response.
I won’t type the whole thing out but summarizing it, I said since the communication from the company has been insufficient, my resignation would be effective immediately.
Before I turned off my laptop, I saw another employee quit 10 min after I did. As well a senior employee quit 2 days before I did.
We all sent the exact same email to all employees saying we quit, same title, we’ll al just changed the signature at the bottom to our individual name which I found comical.
I’m looking forward to starting my new job I already had lined up, and thankful to not be part of a dumpster fire.
