I came into work and preceded to talk about yesterday's outburst from him. He told me that it was nothing personal just business, when I pressed him on why he acted that way he told me “if I'm going to cause problems today I should just go home” so that's when I told him that he has no right to say that to me, and if happily call the union if need be. That quieted him down and then I hit him with it. “I'm just notifying you that I'm putting in my two weeks notice” I said firmly. He then gave me his sob story about how he's going through a divorce and that he needs to get this department up to standard otherwise he'll be fired and lose custody of his child. I explained to him, as well tragic as that is he shouldn't be taking it out on me. He then asked if I wanted him to apologize, and I just silently looked at him and he apologized. I still handed in my two weeks.
I met with the store director and explained everything that had happened the day before and why I was handing in my two weeks notice, he looked very upset with my manager and asked if there was a way I would reconsider leaving. I told him that if they upped my pay and disciplined my manager I would THINK about it. Mind you I have pulled thousands of dollars in expired food product, come up with a system to check dates by putting up a whiteboard and writing dates, on top of training new employees and working 100% by myself for multiple days in a row. I have bought my own gloves because they have been out, and my own cleaning supplies when they have run out. He upped my pay immediately by a dollar and said that he will be upping it more in stages because he can't do it all at once. They will also b transferring me to a different department and make sure to address the situation with my manager.
