This is my second job after college.
Could I have worked harder? Sure. But my manager was hostile—everything question I asked I got a rude answer for having asking it, making me feel about 2cm tall. When I said I needed more support, she said she was “already at capacity” and I should work it out for myself. Then when I worked it out, I was inevitably chewed out for having done it wrong, as though I'm supposed to be psychic. She then said she didn't know what she wanted, only that it'd be right when she saw it.
If I did something wrong I got a 500 word email detailing what was wrong. If I got something right, I got an email saying “OK – Sent from my iPhone” and another task to do.
In the official probationary failure letter, they've written that “…you have failed to meet the standards expected by the company despite regular reviews with your manager to discuss your progress.” Like the one where she said to be more open and when I asked how, she rolled her eyes and told me to just 'be more open'?
They need someone with more experience but don't wanna pay the salary associated with it. They're cheap, can't manage people, and have a two-star rating on Glassdoor, which I will gladly assist in reducing. I don't wanna drag this out to a lawyer. I just wanna find something new and forget about this dump.
I spent five months there so I'll be keeping it on my resume. I just wish I'd been able to find a new job before I got fired so I could see the shock on her face.
