Sorry if this type of post isn't allowed but I just needed to get this out cause I'm tired of these boomer fucks not understanding how reservations work
I work at a rental car agency, this time of the year we're pretty much booked up every day especially for high demand vehicles like large and premium SUVs, my work has totally shut down reservations due to pretty much no availability, yet these 3rd party scam websites Expedia, Travelocity, priceline & hotwire (seriously please never use these fucking sites if you need to book something contact the source directly) they bypass our restrictions and let people book but unlike our site which requires a phone #, these 3rd party sites don't so when i see one come through I have no way of contacting the person to tell them we're sold out. About 45min ago (the reason I'm posting this) had a guy book via Expedia at 2:30 to pick up at 2:45, absolutely last minute, shows up and here was the interaction:
Me: “Hi are you here to pickup or return?”
“Pick up”
“Last name please”
“last name“
“I don't see any reservation with that name on my manifest”
“I just booked through Expedia”
I check my system and see it, just came through with no information so I couldn't have even called the guy before he showed up
“Sir you just booked this through a 3rd party site, unfortunately they don't have access to our inventory and I am actually sold out of those vehicles and everything else at the moment”
“THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I BOOK WITH YOUR COMPANY”
“Sir you didn't book with us you booked with Expedia, they don't check our inventory they just make the bookings without checking so I don't ever recommend using them”
“FUCK YOU, YOU'RE A PIECE OF FUCKING SHIT”
“OK bye”
Like I'm so fucking annoyed and angry that this boomer douchebag has the sheer audacity to talk to me like this when he had absolutely everything wrong but still I'm somehow the asshole, instead of the guy trying to book a car at the last possible second in one of our busier months. Again sorry if this post isn't allowed here but man, to quote my hero Randal Graves “This job would be great if it weren't for the fucking customers”
