I have worked for a few resorts over the last year as well as one hotel. To me it seems a plethora of people are being taken advantage of under the guise of scenery. I see that the management of the places I worked for is grandfathered in. The “housing” is usually bunk style and rent is deducted directly from the paychecks. Usually you can work a few weeks in debt to the company before you are paid even 1 check. Sometimes these jobs are in high elevation or otherwise extremely dangerous.
I saw alot of psychological abuse done to individuals that hadn't seen sunlight for months. Alot of people crack in high elevation and alcohol is very popular where it can harm you the most.
Not to mention the Holiday workers everywhere across the globe.
I would like to suggest a Virtual Seasonal Workers Union as well as a 4th of July strike for all seasonal, service industries.
