Wage Theft

I work for a huge medical foundation. At the family practice I work at we are completely understaffed. No attempt whatsoever to hire additional staff has been made. So the staff that is left is expected to do the work of two people for the same pay. Don't forget, we're also “heroes”. I have the bumper sticker they mailed me as proof. /s. So our lovely, poorly qualified manager decided to implement a “no overtime no exceptions” rule. She said all work had to be completed before leaving, but absolutely no overtime (even though the company is literally saving about $200k a year at our office because we are so understaffed, but paying 15 minutes of OT a few times a week was unacceptable). So staff started clocking out and staying 10-60 minutes after, unpaid, to show their loyalty. The manager was completely aware of this. I have screen shots…

I have screen shots of one employee saying, “I'm off at five, but I'll clock out and stay until 5:30 to help out. The manager thanked her, and then she left the office instead of staying to help too. She will ask people why they are still at work and they will reply “I'm not finished, but I clocked out. She then nods her head in approval.

This happens daily. I'm sure she's getting a nice bonus because of all the money she is saving by guilting people into working for free.

I called our anonymous line to report her. Is there anywhere else I can report her? Isn't wage theft a pretty serious crime?

US, California.

Thank you!
