Waiting on final paycheck…

Hello all, was looking for some advice. I resigned from my job just under 3 weeks ago. In my state, Colorado, employers are required to give you your final paycheck on the next scheduled payday. However, if it’s been 14 or more days, I can file a report. Today is day 14, it’s been 2 weeks exactly since the scheduled payday. I’ve been trying to collect my paycheck for 2 weeks now, my old boss keeps giving me the runaround. They also owe me just over $16k in commissions. My questions are: 1.

A lawyer, the state, someone else?

I really need to get my paycheck this week at the very least, the commission is something I imagine is going to be annoying af to try to collect even though I’m legally entitled to it. I don’t want to get taken advantage of. The last thing I want to do is go through the legal process, I don’t have the money to pay for a lawyer, are there any alternatives? I’m located in Denver, CO.
