We had a situation this morning where a supplier called and said we had 17k sqft of a product reserved at their warehouse that needed to move now. Boss called me and said there’s no way we need that much. I did the math and told my assistant to tell him we did need that much and I went to the bathroom. Came back just in time to hear my boss tell her, “have her check again, she’s wrong. Like always. Guess I’m eating this too.”
I saw red. I printed out the calculations showing the sqft needed and a copy of every invoice showing how much had already been shipped, and told him I’m not wrong, I work according to plan. It’s not my fault if they make changes but according to plan we needed that sqft. He said if it’s wrong it’s on me, and if I’m so unhappy at my job we need to talk about it. Hmm, get yelled at every day, blamed for every thing that goes wrong, underpaid, doing two people’s jobs due to understaffing, haven’t gotten a raise since 2018… what’s not to love? Of course I’m unhappy. Doesn’t mean I can survive without the checks.
Gah. Fuck that guy. I hate my life.
