I got hired on as a direct sales residential sales rep at Spectrum, my supervisor explained that the salary was $400 a week with an extra $500 a week as a training bonus.
My first check after taxes was $975, I asked my supervisor what’s going on and he said that he misread the pay and clarified a few days after we had our meeting, where he first stated our pay would be $1800 every two weeks and we asked him if he was sure about that and he said he was. He said that I was probably late and that’s why I didn’t remember him clarifying the pay agreement.
I walked off the job and only came back to formally quit and drop off my work phone and tablet.
Do I have any recourse? Every other trainer/supervisor in the company I asked stated that the pay is indeed $500 every two weeks not every week. I asked them after I got my first paycheck, but I would’ve been looking for a new job instead of working for ~$16.75 an hour including bonus and $10 an hour after the training period was over, I thought I was getting $25 an hour + commission. I feel like I wasted three weeks of my life, as my first day was at the end of the pay period so I had to wait three weeks to get my first paycheck.
