So not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I figured you might have some good advice.
I love my job, I work directly under the owner of the company and I've been here the longest bar the owner and his family. When I first started I just did retail stuff but now I'm actively doing all my normal retail stuff, plus running a small repairs department, plus running events that are also streamed live, I run the events and the stream and I also do all the graphic design and marketing for the events. I also now close and open the shop as the “manager” on days My boss and his family are off and act as manager on those days too for the few people under me.
Despite all this I'm on minimum wage which is 6.83 in the UK for my age, towards the end of this year I'll be a year older and my pay goes up to 9.18 and I want to ask him to raise my pay now rather than in 6 months. Like I said, I love my job I'm happy to be paid a little less than elsewhere because I have a good deal with everything other than pay here and I value that higher.
What's my best course of action for asking this? I've never done this sort of thing before.
