Warning: Tipping for Non Tipping Roles can Change Minimum Wage To Be Less

In the US there has been an increasing push by multiple minimum wage jobs to have tips at the register for non traditional tipping roles. It could be the cashier at the grocery store, the ups delivery cashier, a clothing store cashier, etc. Although you might think tipping them is helping or you feel guilty for not giving them a tip, you may actually be contributing to the next sick Capitalist scheme: Any job that gets more in tipping than the minimum wage can essentially make that role into Tipping Role. Tipping Role is what waiter roles are where they make below minimum wage at 2.50 an hour and rely on the patrons, not the employers, to pay their wages.

If we continue to subsidize corporations and other jobs by tipping their workers, they can essentially get rid of the 7.50 minimum wage by turning all these roles into Tipping Roles.

Do Not tip the employees. Do Not let the companies subsidize paying their employees minimum or more wages. Do Not feel guilt for falling into this late stage sick scheme. You will be hurting the employees long term leverage of being able to leave for better paying jobs if they all become Tipping roles.

This situation happened before in the 1970s and it failed after people realized what was going on. Let’s not repeat history with the same mistake
