So I work in the theater industry as “general crew” and I’ve noticed that we get paid pretty shit $10 an hour for everyone that works there, no matter how good they are at their job, how much they know, what skills they have. Nothing, and word of mouth is that nobody gets a raise, or bonus. Yet our theater makes a SHIT ton via predatory upselling and useless commodities and overpriced everything. None of which we get any sort of commission on for our efforts to make the franchise more money. We all know the theater has the money, they’re a fairly big franchise and I know damn well money we make isn’t going into repairs because we’ve got broken shit everywhere and outdated manual signs. So most of us deserve to be paid more, I won’t say everyone because the staff is pretty young and the kids are dickheads a lot of the time but most of us.
