was havin a chat with a manager. (Think coffee store, but not the green one) (( but I'm related to the manager))
gave me the spheel of “no1 wants to work” and he cant hire anyone for his store no matter what. he pays 11$/hr, part time only no raises, and the shifts are rotating, you would have to get a second job to make ends meet.
so i ask him point blank, how much does the store make in profit per year on average. hes like (800k -1.2m) after expenses and everything. pure profit
“so you cant take that 800k and use it for hiring?” or upping your ~10-12 employee goal to say 60k/ yr? (his 800k profit is still after his current 6 member skeleton crew at 11$ /hr)
“No! its not my money its the owners! they only give me so much money to work with for employee hiring and the most i can give everyone is 11$”
so im like, thats only 24k a year, how do you live on that???? “thats not my problem”
so i do the pencil math, 24k x 10 what his target goal is to run the store optimally, is 240k per year in “overhead” he could literally triple them all to 33$/hr full time and still turn a profit in that store!
its insane what “the owners” demand from their passive income machines!
