I work in healthcare, surgery/anesthesia. My specific profession isn’t commonly known or understood but we are very valuable in the OR and it can’t run without us.
Admin and payroll don’t understand or care. I’m especially underpaid but it’s whatever. However now nurses are being offered triple pay while we aren’t allowed any OT (and we don’t have enough people to provide the coverage they want without OT…) so safe to say we are not happy.
My boss is meeting w us today about this. He said “bring your ideas” but there aren’t any. Whatever. He has this stupid line he says whenever pay is mentioned “We don’t do what we do for the pay now do we” but like…. That’s why I’m here?? Nothing we say ever makes him take that back. How am I supposed to respond to that BS? He’s gonna say it again today i’m positive.
