So we just got told that our entire team has to work the Easter holidays which are designated national holidays. I already have plans which is quite frustrating. When we told them it's a national holiday, they responded saying that head office said we are lucky we don't have to work weekends, so should be appreciative of that. In our team, everyone will begrudgingly work, so if I said no, then I'll be the one who's not a “team player”
We will get a day off in lieu, but I already have plans etc. A day off in lieu doesn't cut it
