I’m sick of people in this sub saying every damn second of the day that we need to raise wages. Every single comment, “we need 30 an hour!” “We need 50 an hour!”. NO. wanna know why not? You already know why not. When wages are raised business raise prices to match. People comment this all the time and you all almost always acknowledge it in two ways… agreeing but not elaborating, or being a dumbass and saying “but they don’t have to raise prices.l they’re just doing it for more money” yeah no fucking shit. No one is arguing that prices just magically go up without anyone doing anything. The problem is, every business in the country isn’t gonna find the kindness in their heart to just willingly keep prices the same even when wages double. But wait?! There’s a solution?? Yes. A solution that for some unknown reason gets downvoted to hell and back every time someone tries to mention it. WE NEED TO CAP PRICES, WE NEED TO CAP PROFITS. you know how a company won’t raise prices to match new wages and keep you poor? IF THEY LITERALLY CANT RAISE THEM. a shirt costs 45¢ to make? Boom put a percent profit the company is allowed to make on it. “Oh but they’ll just say the shirt cost more to make or they’ll make it expensively” AUDIT THEM. MAKE THEM DO A PRICE BREAKDOWN OF THE ENTIRE PROCESS. There you go. Rant over. Prices affordable. Wages not rising for no damn reason just to be squashed by prices again for you to just try again for the 1000th time hoping for something different.
