I’d love to calmly tell my boss “this place is toxic, I’m over-worked and under-paid, and I’m leaving.”
But then what? I hear all these stories of people with triumphant stories but how many of you don’t have parents? Or loved ones? Or a support network? How many of you become homeless within 2 weeks if you quit your job right now?
Instead of encouraging people to quit, we need to encourage unionizing, leftist politicians, and actually talk about being the generation that truly combats capitalism in hopes of achieving socialism.
We need to take these companies away from their owners and give them to people who need the money. We need to repossess homes and cars and land and give them to the people who can’t afford them. We need to make obscene wealth (more than $10 million in a lifetime) a crime punishable by life in prison, and punish it retroactively, making sure people can’t just ditch the wealth and be exempt from the consequences of what they’ve been upholding all this time. Capitalism.
Quit your jobs all you want, there’s more scabs than there are of us. If we want real change, we need to stop protesting our own way and start fighting, hitting the wealthy and the business owners where it hurts. Their finances, their homes, their businesses. If any of those things are safe from us, if we have no way to take those away from them, then we aren’t making a real difference.
