I got a new job 2 months ago. It’s for a small consulting firm (37 employees). I’m remote, but they ask everyone who lives in the area to come to the office for a Monday morning in-person meeting. Turns out the owners of the company are extremely religious. I’ve found out about 13 people who work in the office are related, and from what I can tell almost everyone in the office is also very religious. So far only 2 of the meetings out of the 10 I’ve attended so far have been “work” related. The other have been bible lessons or him just preaching about religious stuff. I’m not religious, but grew up in a super religious home. I hate these meetings and want to push back on being required to attend, but I’m afraid I’ll be at a disadvantage somehow if they know I’m not one of them. I can tell they are the judgemental type of christians. Thank goodness I work from home & the pay is good. My manager is also remote & not a fan of the meetings. She attends so I feel like I have to also.
