Antiwork

Welp, here’s to hopin.

Its been a long couple months, both parents fighting covid. Some of this medicine is stupid expensive, both missing work over this. I've stepped up to pay what bills I can but my job only pays $11.50/hr. Its not much, just janitorial work at a medical college, but it sucks to be a viewed as “unskilled labor” while my bank account sinks. I worked at a sawmill prior to this, for not much more per hour, where I got to watch fingers and toes chopped off, smashed off, broke off and even someone die, so I appreciate them for giving me a way out. I've been putting in 1 application a day for the past few weeks to better paying jobs and FINALLY got a phone interview this Tuesday. Almost triple what im making now, Im really hoping it goes well because I dont know how much more I can…

I've been putting in 1 application a day for the past few weeks to better paying jobs and FINALLY got a phone interview this Tuesday. Almost triple what im making now, Im really hoping it goes well because I dont know how much more I can take of this American dream. I just want to breathe, I just want to live a little, I just want to be able to provide for my parents as they age. Im 29 and everything just constantly feels out of control. Keep fighting for better work conditions, keep being an amazing community.
