The last job I had, they had you sign a piece of paper when you started saying that cell phones were to be left in your car or with a manager in the office. It also, according to the GM, was grounds for his termination if he didn't enforce it. I worked here for two years.

I started a new job two weeks ago, and one of the first things that my supervisor told me was that I should take out my phone if I'm bored. There is a portion of my day where, according to this supervisor, I can just “stand around and play on my phone if I want”. A bunch of the people that work there are involved in a group game of Bingo on their phones, which they check frequently throughout the day.

And to top it all off, I got a raise, I am now going to start receiving benefits, and I was even granted a sick day with sick pay just six days into my tenure.

I only wish I had started looking for a better job sooner.
