I used to work retail at a well known retail chain until 2 years ago. And I quickly realized that I’d go insane if I stayed for more then a year so I needed to get out asap. So I looked into easy businesses and went into selling on ebay and eventually amazon. Took a while to get started since nobody would buy from me, but I got some friends to order and get me some reviews and then it skyrocketed. Made 32k profit in my first year and on track to make 90k this year. Hired my first employee as well which made it even more relaxed.
I went from having monitored bathroom breaks and 8 (9 because unpaid lunch) hour work days to enjoying my life and having freedom.
The lesson being, working for someone else is a scam. You will never get paid how much you are worth.
