We’re gona be in a bind today! – office manager to receptionist

I just got into my therapists office and overheard a conversation where the wording was pretty irritating. OM: we’re gona be in a bind today! R: huh? Why? OM: because Katy’s daughter (something something) and had to be airlifted to the hospital. Why is someone else’s medical emergencies 1. Any of the other employee’s business when she told you, the manager? And 2. Why do you get to frame someone’s medical emergency as if it is a disadvantage to you? I could be taking this way too seriously, but the wording sounded very problematic imo.
