With the current news cycle stuck on stopping WFH and prominent politicians like Biden and NYC Mayor pushing for people to return to the office we need our own narrative.
Right now the jest of theirs is based on the economy of Urban Centers. Urban centers have been hurt by the mass exodus and need people to return to help stimulate that economy.
Our(ProWFH) narrative needs to be about how what they are proposing will hurt small town America, small business and so on. What they are pushing towards is essentially a redistribution of wealth and spending. Transitioning spending from local city centers to major urban areas. They're focused on jobs and revenue in urban centers but what about the jobs and revenue in surrounding towns.
If money is being spent in place A then it isn't being spent in place B. The money is going to be spent. Just a matter of where it will be spent.
Their narrative makes it seem like money isn't being spent, when it is. Our narrative needs to highlight that money is being spent just not where they(corporate America) want it.
Any movement needs to sell itself to the masses. That's why blocking freeways is just about the worst thing you can do. Pisses off everyone.
Right now they are selling loss of jobs and revenue, which sounds important. They conveniently leave off the part where what they are proposing will create a loss of jobs and revenue elsewhere.
We sell our position as preserving jobs and revenue on the local level. Support Small Business(great selling point even if it's pretty hollow)
In general we need to be better at selling our movement
